Jake has spent his career leveraging his expertise in education, learning design, behavioral economics, and business. During his six years in education and education management, Jake helped close the education gap in under-resourced communities in Texas and went on to manage teacher advisors responsible for the education of over 4,500 students.
As an entrepreneur, he brought his expertise to the health technology field, holding senior roles in early stage start-ups.
Jake holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and a BA in History from Northwestern University. He is also a science fiction enthusiast, is trained as a yoga instructor, and enjoys running along the Hudson with his wife.
Luke Palder co-founded NYCTutoring.com out of a passion for helping learners achieve their goals. After graduating as valedictorian of the Culver Academies, where he achieved a 4.0 GPA and perfect SAT I and SAT II math scores, he went on to earn a BA in political science from Yale. He has also studied at Cambridge University, Peking University (China’s top university), and Yale Law School. Notably, he was a teaching assistant in the MBA program at the Yale School of Management while still an undergrad and tutored data analysis for a Yale professor.
Luke has worked in a ribosome biogenesis lab, served as an aide to four US congressmen, and taught English in several countries, including China and Spain. He received more than $1,000,000 in merit college scholarships, including the full-tuition Robertson Scholarship at both Duke and UNC Chapel-Hill. He loves working with students.

Beginning her teaching career as a Teach For America corps member in the Bronx, Sara has spent a decade teaching Pre-K through 6th grade special and general education and working as an instructional coach and administrator in a variety of school settings.
Most recently, Sara served as the Chief People and Program Officer at Rocky Mountain Prep, overseeing the academic design and implementation for a high performing network of schools in Denver, Colorado.
Sara holds an BA in Sociology and Women's Studies from Arizona State University, a dual Master's of Science in Childhood and Special Education from CUNY - Lehman College, a Master's in Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service, and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.
